Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon - GR Review

Added: 30.04.2013 19:28 | 8 views | 0 comments

I fear no man, no beast or evil, brother! Critics be damned. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon doesn't give a fuck about them. In fact, it actively doesn't give a fuck about them. How does someone correctly begin a "critical" review about a game whose aesthetic is awesomeness in the most stupidly power-fisted way possible? And by that I mean it's a love letter—nay, more like an infatuation letter—to nearly every male power fantasy in film, television, and video games in the late '80s and early '90s. Every reference you fail to recognize only makes you less awesome.

onPause Review: Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

Added: 30.04.2013 19:18 | 5 views | 0 comments

onPause writes: When Ubisoft released Far Cry 3 late last year, players were unleashed onto lush island and jungle environments filled with open world exploration, hunting and a story filled with insanity. Fast forward a few months and Ubisoft Montreal is bringing us a very different Far Cry experience with the standalone title Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon which can be downloaded on Xbox 360, PS3 or PC for 15 Dollars.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (PlayStation Network) Review - Push Square

Added: 30.04.2013 19:18 | 2 views | 0 comments

Push Square: "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is unashamedly stupid, and it's all the better for it. The standalone download takes the core ideas from Ubisoft's relatively recent tropical thriller, and reassembles them in the form of a nostalgic love-in that's packed with sly references and silly jokes. Its campaign may be short, but the title never overstays its welcome as a result. If you're looking for a laugh, then search no further."

Mind Of The Geek | Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon review

Added: 30.04.2013 19:18 | 7 views | 0 comments

Ubisoft Montreal has created one of the most fully realized and perfectly represented love-letters to the 1980s. With a perfect blend between visuals, audio, and writing, Blood Dragon is a brilliant parody and an awesome action game. It is well worth the low asking price, and can easily stand on its own without the Far Cry brand.

Blood Dragon blasts Far Cry 3 with a shrink-ray and wraps it in neon-bomb apocalypse - the fallout is irreverent and immense fun to play.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon review: Neon Genesis Elation | Joystiq

Added: 30.04.2013 19:18 | 5 views | 0 comments

Joystiq: "It'd be wrong to say Blood Dragon is simply dumb, 80s-inspired fun, even if that's largely what it provides. Parody's a thorny thing, tricky to execute and often limited in appeal. It's to Ubisoft Montreal's credit that Blood Dragon broadens the appeal of its source, thanks to a hilarious, accessible dollop of nostalgia, coated in the mechanics that made Far Cry 3 great. This easily could've been a great idea greenlit into something terrible. We do love it when a plan comes together."

At its core, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is a digest version of the original game, cut to its core components, tweaked and in many ways strengthened, and given a wacky new finish.

'Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon' review: Parody walks a fine line | Digital Spy

Added: 30.04.2013 19:18 | 7 views | 0 comments

If Far Cry 3 was the dinner entree when it released last year, then Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is an ice cream sunday on top of a slice of chocolate cake for dessert. It goes a bit farther than it needs to for some of its parody, but the game's core is as strong as ever wrapped in a love letter to the '80s vision of cool.
